Our Story

Kaye and Erwin met each other at a nightclub called ‘Motel’, during a Halloween event in 2010. Both attended with their own group of friends and were not expecting to meet each other for the first time that night. Little did Kaye and Erwin know that they had mutual friends. The night was almost over when their paths finally collided; the two had instant chemistry. After dancing the night away together, they went along their own separate ways, without really knowing who the other person was.

Thankfully, Erwin was very keen to bring around his digital camera at the time to help capture and document the blurriest of nights. After looking through the pictures and videos from the night before with his friends, one of them recognized Kaye. They noticed that there were a considerable number of pictures with Kaye and Erwin partying the night away together.

Both Kaye and Erwin brushed off the encounter as just a fun night. They did not speak or see each other again until a month later, when Kaye went back to the same club to celebrate her birthday. A mutual friend expressed to Erwin that he should go out that night, since the ‘girl from the Halloween pictures’ was going to be there.

Naturally, Kaye and Erwin were drawn to each other again, leading to the couple partying the night away together yet again. This time around, Erwin made sure to get Kaye’s phone number with the intention of taking her out on a proper first date. He wanted to take a step back and get to know the girl whom he seemed to have so much great chemistry with.

On their first date, the night ended with a cruise up to Cypress Mountain lookout, where Kaye and Erwin shared their life stories. They talked about anything and everything, whilst getting to know each other in the blink of an eye. This was all it took for Erwin to feel a sense of purpose and belonging with Kaye. They were inseparable since, going on all of sorts of adventures that helped build a strong bond while going through life’s challenges together. The couple moved in together while Kaye was working on completing her degree. Once Kaye graduated from nursing school, Erwin proposed the following year. Although COVID-19 unfortunately delayed their initial wedding plans, Kaye and Erwin decided to carry on and welcomed their first child, Dominic.

Now it seems that the time is right to take a step back once again, but this time to celebrate their love and their commitment to each other. Their journey from a club underneath a bridge to the top of a mountain.
