Joyce & Johnny RSVP

Our love story began in Vancouver, back in 2013. During a night out with mutual friends, we were introduced but did not speak for the rest of the night. As time went on, we found ourselves running into each other time and time again. Some flirtatious banter was exchanged back and forth. After discovering a mutual love for traveling, snowboarding and music, we found ourselves going on impromptu journeys together. Many might say we were together before we knew it.

 

Over five years worth of memories together; graduating University, travelling to some of our favourite places in the world, starting our careers and moving into our first home. A year ago, Johnny popped the question on Whistler mountain, where we had our first trip together, and I said yes. We can’t wait for this exciting new journey to begin!

Johnny is an electrical engineer for a consulting company and Joyce is an internal wholesaler for an investment distribution firm.

Johnny proposed on Whistler mountain, a place near and dear to us. For a couple of months I was looking for a every and any clue I could find. We had at least 3 trips to Whistler booked and I was on edge every time we visited. I was certain he was going to pop the question on our second trip when it was just us two and when it didn’t happen I was on edge for our third and final trip. Spending a ton of time together, I picked up on a few clues and awkward moments, probably because I was pressing to know. March 3rd, after snowboarding with Stephanie and Quyen we took a photo in front of the infamous olympic rings on Whistler mountain, where we took our very first photo together 5 years earlier.

Johnny began a very heartfelt speech that I wish I remembered more of. I was frozen in excitement and pure love for this man. He got down on one knee and asked the question, lifting himself up for a hug even before he could place the beautiful ring on my finger. We later got back to our lodge and three of my best friends were waiting to surprise us with a beautifully decorated space with a beautiful video Johnny made for me and not a dry eye was left.
