Dee and Terence’s story starts online in 2014 – surprisingly not on a dating app, but rather on the professional networking platform, LinkedIn. Dee accidentally adds Terence (thinking he was another Terence with a different last name), not thinking much of it. Days later, Dee receives a message from Terence asking if they had ever met. A confused Dee realizes from the photo that she added the wrong Terence. Embarrassed, Dee apologizes. That could have very well been the end of it, but we all know it wasn’t…
Months later, Dee and Terence are coincidentally at the same event, a volleyball tournament afterparty, at which they attended with their respective friends. As Dee danced with her friends, she notices a tall and somewhat creepy guy dancing nearby, whom she tries to ignore – of course, unsuccessfully. Terence eventually blurts out, “I know you”.
Not yet recognizing that Terence is the guy she accidentally added on LinkedIn, she brushes him off thinking “that was the lamest pick-up line ever.” Terence pleads his case by saying that he knows that Dee works as a makeup artist and that they have each other on LinkedIn (not creepy at all). Their brief interaction – while memorable – did not immediately result in anything further.
Dee and Terence would continue to bump into each other at social establishments (where they both frequented) and would awkwardly wave to one another. It wasn’t until a mutual friend finally introduced them that they started talking and getting to know each other. And get to know each other they did, particularly during their first date at The General Public, a restaurant on Main Street.
Terence asked Dee to be his wife on December 31, 2021 at their first date restaurant and she said YES!

Unfortunately, due to the size of the venue and limited space, we will only be inviting family members’ children to the event.
3. Do I get to bring a +1?
Please do not bring any additional guests unless specified on the RSVP invite.
4. What happens if I already RSVPd and feel unwell?
As we are still in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, if you are feeling unwell at all, please do not come to the event. For the safety of all, we encourage you to stay home.
5. I’m from out of town, where should I stay?
Feel free to stay at any hotels in the Metro Vancouver area. We do not have any special discounts, but here are a few suggestions:
